We read the book
Under One Rock by Anthony D. Fredericks.
Before reading: What do you think the child will find under the rock?
Later in the day, students illustrated some of our predictions.
I love this book MOVE by Steven Jenkins and Robin Page.
Before Reading: What words do you think we will learn about the way animals move?
We wrote our predictions in green. After reading the story, we added the words we had not thought of in blue.
I will have to check these books out! Love the pre reading activities!

Thank you for sharing your thinking maps. Thinking maps is an area I'm going to implement next year.
ReplyDeleteOnce you start to use Thinking Maps it starts to change the way you think about teaching. I took the class this summer and I never thought I would use them as much as I do! They are great for kids! Melissa
ReplyDeleteAs you know...I love every single activity that you do:) Remind me of the thinking map book that you read, and what is your secret to those perfect circles. I am now doing "Thinking Map Thursday" thanks to you.
