Rounding Up Rhymes
Rounding Up Rhymes is a simple, fun lesson from Phonics They Use Patricia M. Cunningham.
We took the book One Fish, Two Fish. Red Fish, Blue Fish
by Dr. Seuss.
We reread parts of the book.
We wrote rhyming words on index cards.
We checked before putting them in the pocket chart if they have the same spelling pattern.
We found the vowel and looked at the letters after the vowel.
Later in the day we added more words to our pocket chart of rhymes.

What Do You Do When Your Stuck??
During Shared Reading and Guided Reading, we have been talking a lot about what to do when you are stuck on a word.
I want kids to think about what THEY can do before I help them!

I love Rounding Up the Rhymes activity! Such a worthwhile activity to do for rhyming, chunks and spelling patterns. :)
