| We make the principal be 100 man! He was a good sport, this is his first year at our school. The gym is full of all the younger grades. He was running in the crowd yelling out facts about 100. |

We opened this board up to the whole school. You can constantly see older kids adding to it each day.
Below are some of the stations in all of the classrooms. The K/1 team use the same signs each year and work together to share supplies for each classroom.
We have lots of parents come in and take the kids around to the stations of their choice. We start at 9 am. Go to the gym at 10:10 for the special presentation come back for a snack.
After snack, we go back to stations until 11:30.
It is an excellent day for all!

Hi. I'm loving your stations and am wanting to add the toss game to my own rotations this year (Play Target 100). Do you have directions as to how to make the target? Also, I like your center signs (the frame of "100"s with the title in the middle). Very good ideas. Just wondering if you have any resources available either in a TpT store or as a freebie. Thanks!

Back again ... I'd really like to use the Play Target 100 at our next Family Night. My husband and I are trying to put together a similar target. But I'm just curious and would love a little more info: What size is your target? What did you find worked best for you? 1 student at a time or a small group? Do kids keep tallys of what they've thrown? Or add as they go? (I can't really see your recording sheet.) This looks like a great way to combine gross motor with math. Just wanting to learn from your experiences. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs. Yazzie, Sorry about that. I did not make the target but I can tell you that it was the size of a poster (not too big) like 22 by 27. She made it with felt and took little balls and put velcro on them to stick. The kids went to the stations in small groups but took turns one at a time. My friend who made it made a little sheet that went with it to record. She put the shapes if you look at it she has shapes with numbers. I think she put the the shape with the number and the kids checked off what the ball landed on. Or she could of put the shape and the kids recorded the number. The kids took so many throws trying to get 100. Tell me when you need it...I could email her tonight to see if she has a sheet to send me. Melissa

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your 100th day Ideas. Ours is the day after we get back from Spring break, on the 25th! There are so many good ideas out there it's going to be SO hard to pick the ones my first graders will have the most fun with.
